Service

Deep cleaning,
properly done.

When a normal service is not enough — weak airflow, a smell that returns, or a unit that has not been opened up in a long time.

When a deep clean is the right call

A routine service handles surface dirt. A deep clean is for what has built up inside the unit.

  • Airflow is weak even after a normal service
  • A musty or sour smell on start-up
  • Visible black build-up in the blower
  • The unit has not been serviced in over a year
  • Dusty area, ground floor or road-facing flat
  • Someone in the house is sensitive to dust

How it differs from a normal service

The indoor unit is covered with a collection sheet and washed under pressure, so the dirt comes out of the fins and blower rather than being pushed further in. The drain tray is cleared and flushed, and the water that comes out is usually the clearest sign of why it was needed.

What to expect on the day

It takes longer than a routine service and the area under the unit needs to be clear. Move anything below the AC, and keep a power point accessible.

Questions

Before you get in touch.

How is this different from regular servicing?

A routine service cleans filters and accessible surfaces. A deep clean opens the unit and washes the coil and blower under pressure with a collection sheet in place.

Will it fix weak cooling?

Often, yes — restricted airflow from a clogged coil is a very common cause. If the problem is gas or a component, cleaning will not hide that and we will tell you.

How often is it needed?

Once a year is typical for most homes. Dusty locations may want it more often.

Does it make a mess?

The collection sheet catches the water. Clearing the space below the unit beforehand keeps it clean.
